Canadian born Shelley Lipton is a Ph.D. psychologist whose research in sports psychology informed a second career in commercial photography where her work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, Time, Rolling Stones, Vanity Fair, and several books. 

A passionate gardener, Shelley grows a variety of flora from carefully selected seeds that she herself cultivates. As her garden flourishes to life, the vegetation takes on wild and wonderful shapes that inspire Shelley’s artistic process— she conceives of innovative ways to capture her organic subjects that reveal their species' unique and beautiful characteristics. Her striking close-up portraits of flowers engender novel perspectives of the wonders of the natural world. Her fine art photography has been featured in exhibitions in Pittsburgh, New York, and Miami.
